On the road to Baton Rouge

We had a beautiful day for a drive, and it was a pleasant trip to Baton Rouge.  The 6 1/2 hour drive took a bit longer as we stopped at points of interest along the way.  The first stop was a small nursery, famous for their spectacular field grown mums.  The plants were quite stunning, but more stunning were the prices. If we had a truck, we could have loaded up.
As it was, I did break down and buy a mum, which is now residing in my hotel room for 4 days!  Probably not the wisest decision.nursery louisiana.oct142 nursery louisiana.oct143

We had a wonderful late lunch at the Waterfront Grill in Monroe, Louisiana.bayou restauraunt.oct201 bayou restauraunt.oct202Not only good food, but a great view.

We finally made it into Baton Rouge at 8:30 p.m. and ran into 2 MG’s from White County.  We unloaded and found where the festivities will be held tomorrow.  It is a nice venue.SR conf.oct20.142 SR conf.oct20.141  Now it is off to bed!
