Today marked my first official holiday event. The Jefferson County EHC hosted their annual holiday tasting event and asked me to be their speaker on holiday plants. They had a huge crowd from several southern counties and a tasty spread of food. In addition, the room was decorated to the hilt and many were wearing their holiday sweaters and aprons.

We also sold a lot of MG 2015 calendars. It was a great event. Bettye Johnson who is both an EHC member and a MG is their current council president and asked me to speak. bettye and janet It was a good event.

I decided to do a quick run to Shell Ross Nursery as I was leaving town, and found some great bargains on large flowering kale and cabbage. I also bought some beet and spinach transplants. Just what I need, more plants to plant!!

I have a LOT of pansies, violas and panolas I need to get planted this weekend. Summer annuals are getting yanked and pansies are going in!pansies nov.7.14.

Tonight rounded out the celebrations with a surprise party for the Danderands 35 wedding anniversary. The event was thrown by their three children, and surprised they were! It was a fitting celebration for a great couple and their family.
