Amazing plant sale, and, getting ready

Many county MG programs have MG plant sales and they are highly organized, and very popular in their communities, but I think Faulkner County may take the prize for the largest and most efficient. When I drove in this morning their sale had been going on for less than 30 minutes, and the parking lot was packed. faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (3)

They have the entire facility broken up into sections–shade, sun, annuals, perennials, ferns, hostas, houseplants, shrubs, trees, vegetables, herbs, etc. faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (10)

They had a plant holding area, if you had too many things to handle at one time, faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (22)but many people brought their own wagons to aid them in shopping. faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (20)

Master Gardeners counted out plants and filled out tickets, then folks stood in line to pay the cashiers. faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (18) Once they had made their purchases, the could go get their cars, and 4-Hers were on hand to help load their goodies. faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (17)

They also had a section on garden art, complete with many fairy garden items. faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (12)faulkner county mg plant sale may9 (14)

They also had one corner of the room set up for seminars, of which I was one, and Bob Byers, the other. It was great to see Bob, and he is in town until he heads to France with us. They also had demonstration tables set up with experts on bees, roses, natives, and more.

A really fine event.

Then on my way home, I stopped in to see the Legacy Gardens at the old county extension office in Faulkner County. I saw them from the highway that morning. This is another large MG project and it looks great. legacy gardens may9 (2)

I got home and started on trip preparation. The laundry is all done, refrigerator cleaned out, cleanup begun, credit cards informed of travel and everything is falling into place. I have all day tomorrow and most of Monday before I head to the airport, so we have plenty of time. The main thing is I have tickets, passport and money, plus clean clothes, so all is good!
