Julie and I got a lot tied up today at the office before we head to New Orleans on Monday.

I got home and we went to a great celebration tonight. Our friend Phyllis Brandon, the retired brains behind High Profile in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, turned 80 tonight and her sons threw a great party to honor that achievement. phyllis 80.15 (1) It was a great mix of family and friends, and everyone had a great time.phyllis 80.15 (2)

Not only was it a great celebration, honoring a wonderful woman, but tonight was a “blue moon”. While most years have 12 full moons, this year has 13. And according to NASA, a blue moon is defined as any time there is a second full moon during a calendar month.Blue moons are very rarely blue. Most are pale gray and white, resembling a moon on any other night. This second full moon is the first such occurrence since August 2012. blue moon.july (2)
