Carroll County planning and pre-tour

September 15, 2015

what a pleasant day. It was a cool morning and clear skies for my drive up to Berryville. After a working lunch that was wonderful and included apple roses

We were on the road to Dogwood Canyon. I had not been there before, but this is a beautiful property ownedby the same folks as BassPro Shops. The manager of the property Chad, gave us a sneak peak grand tour. They have a new restaurant/visitor center which is under construction and should be done in thenext few months, with a new nature center that might be open in time for our conference.

There is a lot of history on this site, some gorgeous waterfalls and waters filled with huge trout.

The rock formations are awe-inspiring. There is a chapel on-site

, a chuckwagon station where we can eat,

and then you can get up close and personal with bison, deer and elk.

It was a great experience and one you can have too for the pre-conference tour next June. Then it was back to Berryville for a committee meeting tonight. We had a great turn-out and got a lot accomplished. Tomorrow morning I head to Blue Springs to meet with their staff to talk about their gardens. I should be heading home sometime after lunch.
