A Sweet Job!

December 14, 2015

A couple of weeks ago I put out a request for some local MGs to help bottle up 1000 small bottles of honey to be used as give-aways at the Arkansas Flower & Garden Show in Februaryhoney dec (3)

Our bee specialist thought it would take 2 days, but I said a few hours and we were both wrong. It took less than one hour to get 1000 bottles filled, sealed and cleaned. Jon went for more bottles and we got the labels coming in batches, and within 2 1/2 hours we had 1200 bottles filled, labeled and packaged. We ate lunch and they helped clean up and we had the place back to normal in 3 hours flat! Truly impressive.

We had a well-oiled machine.honey dec (11)

This “Can do” attitude and excellent work ethic is what puts the Arkansas Master Gardener program on the map! What a great group of volunteers! Thanks to all, we will have excellent honey to share with show participants. The honey was from demonstration hives in Lonoke.
