Today was the official opening of registration for active MG volunteers only for the 2016 state MG Conference in Eureka Springs. 2016 mg logo We had it set to be released at 6 a.m. and by 6:30 I was getting texts, emails and phone calls. To access the information which is not open to the public, it is housed on our MG Only website. Many had forgotten how to get in and were anxious to see what is being offered. Today was probably not the best day for me to be out of the office in Ft. Smith, but we handled it. My secretary spent a lot of time on the phone as did Penny at the LR Convention Center who is handling our online registrations. As of close of business today, with 11 hours open, we registered 126 Master Gardeners and 37 signed up for the pretour! A record I am sure.
Registration is open to ACTIVE MGs only from now through Feb. 19. After that, sustainers and guests may register as long as space is available. When you register online through the LRCVB you do have to have a password, and if you have forgotten yours from last year, you can call them and they will help. (During business hours). The conference includes two hot breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners–one at Blue Springs, so it is a bargain!

Since we have conference sites set so far in advance, I am working with planning teams from three counties at one time! Today I met with the new chairs of the 2018 conference and they are getting organized and setting up their teams. river valley planning (1) 2016 of course is in the bag and live now, and 2017 is well along on their plans. It is great to be so organized and ready! We are blessed with great volunteers statewide!
While we do have statewide guidelines for all counties, each county is each quite different in the projects they choose, and trying to meet the needs of their members. I loved this display that the River Valley folks put together to celebrate their 25 years in existence. river valley mg sign (1) Such good things are happening all over!

It was a nice drive up and back today. Tomorrow I head to Faulkner county for MG training.
