Another Wrap on a Successful AFGS!

February 28, 2016

Today was another gorgeous day outside, and we had a nice, steady crowd all day at the Arkansas Flower & Garden Show. It was not crazy like yesterday, but we had great attendance. I haven’t heard the official count yet, but it will be impressive. Today was an easier day to shop, but there wasn’t as much to choose from in some of the booths, because they were hit hard all three days with shoppers. I did pick up a few plants and some must have items to take home and we had a great, diverse mix of products to choose from. afgs sunday 16 (1)

We still had a full line-up of great speakers on the how-to stage. afgs sunday 16 (15) and I had a bit more time to go examine the florist tabletop competition. They were stunning.afgs sunday 16 (14)

There were hands-on children’s events today, but I did not get any pictures. The show gave everyone a lot of great ideas to take home to their own garden, along with some new plants to plant. afgs sunday 16 (7)

When 4:00 hit, it was a frenzy of activity as people began the process of dismantling. Somehow it goes down a whole lot easier than it goes up. We took out a load and the folks from out-of-town took theirs down, but the large gardens and the rest of the extension booth will get dismantled tomorrow morning, and then we can rest. It was a fantastic three days with time to visit with a whole host of great gardeners. Now we begin to plan for next year!
