Our 40th Class reunion is in the books. It was an excellent event and would not have happened were it not for our classmate extraordinaire Melanie McClure Gibson.  Melanie.july16 She is the glue in the class of 1976, and if it weren’t for her tireless efforts, we would not have a reunion, or if we did, it would not be as highly organized as it was.  Thank you Melanie.

My friends started off this morning with brunch and then 3 of us went to the Esse Purse Museum.  esse purse museum (1) esse purse museum (3) It takes having out-of-town company to go see things in your own backyard. It was a fun experience, with a great shop next door. Then we did a little retail therapy before going our separate ways to get ready for tonight.

Melanie and crew did an amazing job decorating classmate Becky’s beautiful back poolside deck. parkview reunion day 2 (3) parkview reunion day 2 (5)  We had a great meal and a lot of visiting time.parkview reunion day 2 (2) parkview reunion day 2 (10) parkview reunion day 2 (18) parkview reunion day 2 (20)

Spouses seemed to have a better time tonight, because they could hear to visit.parkview reunion day 2 (14) parkview reunion day 2 (23)

A short program, coupled with a memorial service for our departed class members parkview reunion day 2 (1)and then we toasted and sang the alma mater.

It was a gorgeous venue and people were parked all over the neighborhood. parkview reunion day 2 (8) parkview reunion day 2 (13)

Although it was a bit hot and muggy at times, we were in the shade, and it didn’t seem to stop anyone.  There was a lot of talking, laughing, eating and of courseparkview reunion day 2 (16) parkview reunion day 2 (25) parkview reunion day 2 (26) parkview reunion day 2 (27) picture-taking.  We had a professional photographer too who will send us a cd of our photos later.  We did get in a little gardening talk too–I am not sure how many blueberries will be left on the bushes in the pots around the deck, since many were asking about them and sampling them. blueberry bushes in pots (1)

Now Melanie can start planning for our 50th reunion!

Janet, since no small children now, my Hall High Class of 64 has our reunions in early October. Much nicer weather for all the activities.

Janet, thank you for your kind words. It was really fun with good participation. I think I’ll be a little lethargic for a few days and rejuvenate my batteries. Thanks for your help last night, too. Glad if only comes every ten years!

Hope you got to rest today. I know I did. Thanks for all you did.
