Montacute and Stonehenge

We all brought our luggage down early and had the bus locked and loaded on time. We left a sunny Cornwall and drove towards London with a stop to stretch our legs before arriving at Montacute a home and garden a part of the National Trust. There was a large home with some picturesque gardens. We got to visit with the gardeners. They do not use power tools to ege their beds or lawns. They do it by hand!I don’t think it is too efficient, but quieter!

Another good collection of blooming perennials but some unusual specimens in the oangerie, including a vining heliotrope. After our visit we made a stop at Stonehenge. A new visitor center opened 3 years ago which is quite nice. Fast shuttles take you to and from the stones. You actually could get quite close. Now it is on to Windsor. We should get in by early evening.
