Yesterday was my only day in the office for a bit. It started out with a going away brunch for one of our secretaries, sabrina-brunch-16-1 sabrina-brunch-16-2 sabrina-brunch-16-3and after that, it was running to catch up and get ready for the holiday workshop in Hot Springs Village today.

We had an early morning start and were in the village by 8:15 a.m. I was doing holiday plants and their care, and my son cooked them a fabulous holiday meal.  holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-2holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-3 holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-5  While cooking for a crowd is nothing new, demonstrating and speaking before one was a tad scary for him, but he did an amazing job and seemed right at home. holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-1 holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-9 holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-10

The staff at the Coronado Center were great and helped a lot, but the real helpers were the young men from Teen Challenge. They did an outstanding job helping serve, set up and clean up, and all with such a positive attitude.  What a treat!  holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-8

There were quite a few questions and I think everyone had an enjoyable and informative afternoon. holiday-entertaining-hsv-nov-16-7 holiday-workshop-16

It was kind of nice tag-teaming with my son! I was quite proud of him.

While we are all agreed that fall color is not overwhelming this year, we do have some.  The blackgum trees fall-color-nov16-16-3and red maples img_8482are doing pretty well, and I have seen some pretty crape myrtles as well. fall-color-nov16-16-2

Today was abnormally warm for November, and we are still bone dry! They are predicting much cooler temperatures this weekend with a slight chance of rain. We could really use the moisture statewide.   I for one, am still watering almost daily. I am ready for it to be cooler!
