A very busy but fun week

March 23, 2017

It was great reconnecting and sharing a meal with some of my committee and good friends from last year in Berryville,  plus I got to meet the new dog, Missy.

Today I met with the Silent Auction committee at the Doubletree to finalize where and when we will be hosting that at the state conference this year.  We got to see it set up in many ways like we will see it in  May.    I think we got some details ironed out. I also spent half a day at the office writing columns and finishing up some PowerPoints and handouts for upcoming events.

It was another really warm day, which is pushing plants along at a fast clip.  The flowering peach outside the office is in full bloom.  This is a non-fruiting ornamental which doesn’t require any sprays and is gorgeous every spring.  The numerous viburnums, from burkwood, Korean spice,  to juddii and doublefile are all in full bloom now.  and the witchhazel has such fragrant and unique blooms.   So much is happening in the garden now that you have to investigate daily.

After a full day I made it home in time to unload, and walk my garden, then  freshen up and go with Randy to a wine tasting at Clark and Henrik’s.  It was a delightful evening with great food and wine, but lots of friends and a fabulous garden setting.   There garden looks amazing and is moving at warp speed.   It was a fine ending to a full couple of weeks.

Tomorrow I am headed to Sheridan and Saturday to Hot Springs and storms and weather are predicted for both days, so pay attention!
